Biography

Dr. Samuel is an AI scientist and professor of AI, natural language processing (NLP) and Public Informatics at the Bloustein School, Rutgers University.

His theoretical research addresses the philosophy of human intelligence and artificial intelligence (AI) interaction, and his applied research focuses on generative AI with foundation models, LLMs and NLU leading to the evaluation and improvement of Gen AI output, including chat-bots and smart language models. His collaborative research extends to AI in healthcare, AI education, AI for agriculture and AI ethics.

Professor Samuel is the Executive Director of the Public Informatics program at Bloustein and serves as the Chair of RAISE. He serves as the Editor in Chief of JBDAI and provides NLP, informatics, data science and AI research and advisory services to multiple companies.
