Biography

Research description:  Jacob Feldman studies human perception, cognition, and learning, focusing on computational models of human mental processes. His main areas of focus have included visual perception, including shape representation and perceptual grouping; concept learning, including probabilistic models of how people form categories; and human wayfinding, including models of how humans make optimal navigational choices. In each of these areas the goal is to understand how the humans interprets data to in order understand the world around them, and how the human cognitive system relates to AI solutions to analogous problems.
