Helen Liu
Biography
Dr. Liu’s research focuses on the intersection of emerging technologies, work, and the workforce. The first area of research investigates AI-enabled hiring, examining how employers leverage sophisticated, data-driven tools to recommend positions to job seekers and candidates to recruiters. This project is supported by pilot seed funding from Rutgers’ Office of the Vice Provost for Research and the NB Chancellor. The second area explores the potential of wearable robotics and virtual reality to enhance human performance and expand employment opportunities, particularly for underrepresented groups in the construction industry. This work is funded by the National Science Foundation’s Future of Work at the Human-Technology Frontier Program. Dr. Liu’s third research focus is on developing a STEM-capable workforce, analyzing how STEM career pathways can address the evolving demands of emerging technologies and industries.
