Biography
Prof. Kiran Garimella works in the area of Computational Social Science, trying to apply data science and AI to tackle societal issues such as misinformation, political polarization and hate speech. His recent research focuses on studying misinformation on encrypted, personal chat social networks like WhatsApp and developing solutions to scale fact checking on such platforms.
