Biography
Dr. Yang’s lab utilizes several mathematical modeling techniques to investigate how cellular networks regulate biological processes and how they can engineered into next-generation therapies. Current projects include efforts that apply network-based interpretable machine learning approaches to discover metabolic and gene regulatory networks that regulate antibiotic drug sensitivity in pathogenic bacteria and macrophage responses to external cues. Other efforts focus on developing and applying deep learning to understand bacterial gene regulation and mammalian cell signaling dynamics.
