Joe Gradone
Biography
Joe Gradone is an Assistant Research Professor in Rutgers University’s Center for Ocean Observing Leadership (RUCOOL). A physical oceanographer and marine technologist, he studies how open-ocean variability drives circulation and mixing in a variety of environments, with field programs spanning the Caribbean, Mid-Atlantic Bight, and Southern Ocean. He develops and deploys autonomous underwater vehicles, integrates observations with high-resolution numerical models, and applies data-driven methods to large oceanographic datasets.
