The Rutgers Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (RAD) Collaboratory

Biography

Dr. Guo is a pioneer in AI Manufacturing at the intersections of AI/machine learning, digital twins, and advanced manufacturing. His research, particularly physics-informed machine learning (PIML) and 5G-enabled smart manufacturing, has attracted extensive external funding ($6+ M) from federal agencies (e.g., NSF) and industrial companies in the past five years. His ground-breaking research on PIML leverages the advantages of machine learning, data science, and physical laws of advanced manufacturing to improve the transparency, accuracy, efficiency, and generalization of predictive models. The innovative PIML approach is particularly useful for complex engineering systems. His research results and significant publications (300+) have greatly impacted academia and industry and have been widely recognized by many prestigious awards including the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) William T. Ennor Manufacturing Technology Award, Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) Albert M. Sargent Progress Award, and Rutgers Board of Trustees Award for Excellence in Research. He is an elected fellow of ASME, SME, and CIRP (The International Academy for Production Engineering).
