SUMMARY:Introduction to NVivo
DESCRIPTION:NVivo is a qualitative data analysis software that helps researchers manage\, code\, and markup data for both mixed methods and qualitative studies. This workshop introduces the NVivo workspace and basic features\, including organizing data\, making mind maps\, and getting acquainted with data coding. It also provides an overview of qualitative methods commonly used in the humanities and social sciences. \nThis workshop is presented by Xu Guo\, Qualitative methods graduate specialist at the New Brunswick Libraries. \n\nThis is an online event. Event URL will be sent via registration email. \nRegister here: https://libcal.rutgers.edu/event/16253404

SUMMARY:Symposium on AI in Research
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the second event in the inaugural University Librarian’s Symposium Series. The series is designed to engage the entire Rutgers community on timely topics in higher education\, focusing on a different theme for each series. The current theme is Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education. \nThe rapid expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) within higher education has sparked important questions about appropriate use\, environmental footprint\, and potential influence on problem‑solving and creativity. However\, AI is neither new nor a passing trend and has a long history of being used in various programs and applications. What has become an enduring part of the academic landscape requires a proactive and thoughtful exploration of its benefits\, balanced with strategies to minimize potential disruptions. \nThis hybrid event will take place on March 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Teleconference Lecture Hall on the fourth floor of Alexander Library. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. Remote participation is also available\, and due to space constraints\, participants who are unable to attend for the entire day are encouraged to register for remote attendance. \nRegistration is required.  Click here to register: https://libcal.rutgers.edu/event/16450179
