Burley\, University Professor\, School of Arts and Sciences – C&CB\n\nDescription:\nFour hands-on tutorials will help prepare Rutgers graduate students\, postdocs\, faculty\, and RAD Collaboratory SURF undergraduate students for success in research utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Deep Learning (DL) tools in science and engineering. As part of the training program\, participants will use the Texas Advanced Computer Center (TACC) Frontera supercomputer for online hands-on exercises that reinforce learning from short\, informative lectures.\n\nTutorial Dates/Topics:\n\nSeptember 9 – Introduction to Deep Learning \nSeptember 16 – Introduction to PyTorch \nSeptember 30 – Distributed Neural Network Training\nOctober 14 – Large Language Models and their Applications in Science and Engineering\n\n\nRutgers graduate students\, postdocs\, faculty\, and RAD Collaboratory SURF undergraduate students are eligible to apply. Tutorials will be limited to 50 participants. \n\nWe will be using TACC Frontera RTX 5000 GPUs for all four Tutorials. You must have a Frontera account to run the hands-on exercises. Participants who do not already have a TACC account must request one at https://tacc.utexas.edu/use-tacc/getting-started/.\nGetting approval and setting up the multi-factor authentication may take a few days.\n\nThe tutorials are the same as the sessions that were held in Spring 2025. If you already participated in the Spring 2025 sessions\, please do not apply.\n\nApplications are due by Monday\, September 1 at 5:00pm EDT. Apply at: http://go.rutgers.edu/ai-dl-tutorials

SUMMARY:Undergraduate Research Discovery Day: Resource Fair
DESCRIPTION:Undergraduate Research Discovery Day (URDD) offers undergraduates a dynamic\, hands-on introduction to research pathways\, programs\, and possibilities. During the URDD Kick-Off and Resource Fair on Friday\, September 19th\, students will learn about various research opportunities\, including ideal timelines for engaging in these activities. Faculty and student panel sessions highlight key engagement experiences\, as well as an undergraduate research resource fair. During Research Discovery Sessions (September 15-26)\, students have the opportunity to participate in smaller\, interactive sessions\, which may include: \n\nLab tours or research facility walk-throughs\nInformal chats about getting started in research\nProgram-specific introductions to research opportunities\n\nMore information is available at https://success.rutgers.edu/success-weeks/undergraduate-research-discovery-days.
