SUMMARY:Rutgers Robotics Workshop
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to invite you to the 6th Annual Rutgers Robotics Workshop. \nEvent Details \nDate: Friday\, October 23\, 2026\nTime: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM\nLocation: Civic Square Building\, 33 Livingston Avenue\, New Brunswick\, NJ\nRegistration: https://forms.gle/YA4JBMj9zvN9xe9a7 \nThe annual Rutgers Robotics Workshop series was initiated as part of the SOCRATES NSF Research Traineeship (NRT) Program and is now co-organized with the Rutgers AI and Data Science (RAD) Collaboratory and Rutgers DIMACS. \nThe goal of the 2026 Rutgers Robotics Workshop is to bring together faculty\, researchers\, and students working in robotics from across the university to identify synergies\, brainstorm new collaborations\, and build teams for upcoming proposal submissions. We will also discuss ways to strengthen the Robotics@Rutgers identity and increase the visibility and coordination of robotics research across Rutgers. \nThe workshop will include a dedicated session to discuss upcoming proposal and funding opportunities. \nFaculty working in robotics are encouraged to sign up to give a 10-minute research talk. These talks should provide a brief overview of your research area\, with particular emphasis on opportunities for collaboration with other Rutgers researchers. Faculty members should indicate on the registration form if they would like to give a talk. \nGraduate students: Please indicate on the registration form if you plan to present a poster. \nRegister here: https://forms.gle/YA4JBMj9zvN9xe9a7 \nThe afternoon will feature student posters and robot demonstrations\, followed by a brief closing discussion. \nWorkshop Agenda \n9:00–9:10 AM — Welcome and Robotics@Rutgers Introduction \n9:10–10:20 AM — Faculty Research Talks \n10:20–10:35 AM — Coffee Break and Networking \n10:35–11:15 AM — Faculty Research Talks (continued) \n11:15–11:45 AM — Robotics@Rutgers Discussion \n11:45 AM–12:30 PM — Lunch and Networking \n12:30–12:45 PM — Roadmap of Funding Opportunities \n12:45–1:45 PM — Collaboration and Team Building \n1:45–2:15 PM — Plenary Summary of Discussions \n2:15–3:15 PM — Student Poster Session \n3:15–3:30 PM — Closing Discussion \nParticipation is free\, but registration is required so that we can plan appropriately for lunch and afternoon activities. \nFor more information about the SOCRATES NRT and Rutgers robotics activities\, please visit robotics.rutgers.edu.

SUMMARY:Data Publication 1
DESCRIPTION:This session covers how to create reproducible research and literate programming documents using knitr\, Sweave\, Quarto\, blogdown\, and bookdown. \nThe RStudio environment enables the easy creation of documents in various formats (HTML\, DOC\, PDF) using Rmarkdown\, while knitr allows the incorporation of executable R code to produce the tables and figures in those documents. Sweave provides more advanced LaTeX typesetting\, and Quarto provides even more flexibility and functionality. The blogdown and bookdown packages allow the easy creation of formatted documents in both web-compatible and print formats. This session introduces these concepts and other packages and practices supporting reproducibility with the R environment. \nWorkshop conducted via Zoom. Register to receive the Zoom link with instructions on how to connect. \nSupplemental materials are available at https://libguides.rutgers.edu/data_topics \nInstructor: Ryan Womack \n\n\nRelated LibGuide: Data Topics by Ryan Womack \nDate:Tuesday\, November 17\, 2026 \nTime:2:00pm – 3:30pm \nTime Zone:Eastern Time – US & Canada (change) \nDivision:New Brunswick \nEvent Type:   Workshop   Topics:   Data \nOnline:This is an online event.
